Monroe man dies after panel truck overturns east of Ruston
Larry K. E. Hazzlerigg, 29, of Monroe, died at Ruston Hospital from a fractured skull after his panel truck overturned four miles east of Ruston on Highway 80. He was thrown from the vehicle at Roane's curve and died 25 minutes after arrival. He worked for Red River News Co. and left behind a wife and daughter.

Youth Given Sentence In Local Killing
Judge Mack E Barham in Fourth District Court sentenced Claude Donald Crawford a 22 year old Ouachita parish man to five years in the state penitentiary at Angola but suspended the sentence and placed him on supervised probation for the 1959 shotgun slaying of his father Claude T Crawford. Crawford pleaded guilty and will serve probation during the five year period while under observation at East Louisiana State Hospital at Jackson where he was found sane. In separate action Bradley A Phillips received 15 days in parish jail for vagrancy and William Marble was fined 25 dollars and costs.
