Chief Brantley Rites Held for Monroe Police Chief
The funeral of Chief B. L. Brantley 53 of the Monroe Police Department who died of a heart attack at his home on Monday was held at the Church of Christ on Tuesday. Reverends Decker and Lancaster officiated with City officials and Monroe police officers as honorary pallbearers. Interment was at Riverview Burial Park. Brantley served 19 years in Monroe, earlier leading Farmerville police and serving as city marshal. He is survived by his wife, mother, two daughters, five brothers and three sisters. He was a member of the Church of Christ, Masonic lodge, and Knights of Pythias.
