Accountant Goes Berserk Over Tax Return Upsets Cheyenne
A 21 year old accountant in Cheyenne Wyoming engaged in a four hour gunfire and teargas siege while finishing an income tax return. Police subdued him after patrolman Mike Coulihan climbed to a roof hideout and persuaded him to surrender. No one was seriously injured. The man fired on officers as he holed up with a rifle and shotgun. Traffic was halted and the area flooded with searchlights during the standoff lasting from 10 pm to 2 am.
