Two men robbed the First National Bank of Carthage Texas early today and fled in a small coupe. Officials expect the loss to be under $1000 with no injuries. Nearby towns were alerted as officers seek the robbers. One teller reported inside the bank at the time.
A 75 year old recluse Miss Louise Bres of 109 Breard Street Mon roe and a 42 year old truck driver Albert W Reid of West Monroe died this weekend from heart ailments. Bres was found by a neighbor after 24 hours dead and last seen Friday afternoon. Reid died after 2 15 PM at his West Monroe home according to Coroner C L Mengis.
