Petrograd telegram says Novoe Vremya reports trustworthy information that Turkish forces have evacuated Ezereum in the Can cars campaign. The claim cites the stronghold as a major position previously held by Turkish troops.
In Washington Secretary Lansing refused to discuss any phase of the Lusitania negotiations. President Wilson returned to Washington in the afternoon, reading the ferlin dispatches on the note en route.
