Monroe Police Seize Large Moonshine Operation
Monroe police with warrants raided George Johnson near the stave factory and Christine Wintherly’s home, recovering a full moonshine setup. Officers found a furnace, twenty two barrels of mash, three stoves, fermenting mash, seventy five pounds of sugar, jugs and other materials and destroyed the plant.
