J Frank Rice longtime Shelby County political aide and former county registrar died in New York hospital at 70. A fire last night destroyed the Kent Dairy Products plant in Kentwood. The plant had been closed and in liquidation for three months, with damage estimated around 916000. The origin of the blaze remains undetermined. The plant was once a leading milk distributor for the New Orleans area.

A collision near Kentwood Louisiana yesterday killed Mr and Mrs Arthur Washick of Mundelein Tl and injured a priest Rev P J Siemer and two women. Agnes Washick 14 suffered a fractured collarbone and contusions while Walter 12 was less seriously hurt. Miss Thiese Gerken 72 of White Oaks and the priest are in serious condition.
