Veteran Cotton Leader Burris C. Jackson Dies at 62

Burris C. Jackson, 62, a pivotal figure in U.S. cotton, died in Hillsboro Texas. A founder and two time president of the National Cotton Council he also led Texas Cotton organizations and served as Hillsboro postmaster for nearly two decades. He helped forge national cotton policy through the American Cotton Congress and Cotton Council. Jackson joined Jackson & Co. in 1926 rising to owner by 1936.

Fire On Freighter Claimed Three Lives In New York Harbor
