Good Fellows Work Brings Cheer to Needy Homes
The NewsStar Good Fellows Club completed its first season of Christmas charity in Monroe and West Monroe distributing food clothing and toys to more than six hundred dollars in value. Donations from ninety four lodges businesses and individuals ranged from 28 cents to 60 dollars and reached families in destitute circumstances. The effort provided warm clothing wholesome food and shoes and showed those in need they are valued and capable of healing. The paper suggests this movement may become a permanent feature and may return before the next holiday season.
