They total 30 to 40 dollars and bear a rubber paymaster stamp rather than a handwritten signature.

In Alexandria Georgia born Alfred Brewster was killed by William Ober at the Alexandria Lumber Company camp near Pineville after a short acquaintance. Ober surrendered to Sheriff David and is held in parish jail. Brewster had traveled from Georgia.
Panama, Dec. 26. President Taft will not name a civil governor for the Canal Zone until after returning to the United States. Colonel Goethals is expected to be named governor. Taft toured the burned ruins of the old Panama City, sacked by Henry Morgan in 1671, aboard the Arkansas. The party sails from Colon at 6 PM and head for Key West. Goethals returns aboard the Delaware.
