Elton Wood Sr died in a Shreveport hospital after a long illness. Funeral rites are Thursday at New Light Baptist Church with Rev. Paul McComb officiating and burial in Hall Cemetery, Mulhearn directing. Surviving are a daughter, four sons, 22 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and pallbearers named Winnan, Mardis, and Adkins. The body lies in state at 9 a.m. at the church.

Former Shreveport Resident T. E. Meece Dies in Waco

T. E. Meece of Waco Texas died Monday night after a lengthy illness. He was father of Mrs. Harrell Lary of Monroe. He leaves a widow, another daughter Mrs. Merle Williams of Waco, five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and several brothers and sisters.
