State Accidents Take Four Lives in Louisiana

Yule Traffic Deaths Climb On Highways
Millions of motorists face hazardous driving as the Christmas weekend begins with ice and travel. At least 135 people died in early holiday accidents including 12 in a Greyhound bus crash north of Medford Oregon. The bus from Spokane to San Francisco overturned on Interstate 5 injuring about 30. The National Safety Council warns the end count may reach 560 to 666 deaths. A Medford state police officer described the crash path through an embankment and ditch. The council calls this the most dangerous holiday period of the year due to long trips limited daylight and bad weather.
