Funeral services were held for Juliette Tarver 58 of Sicily Island at her home with Rev. C W Williams. Interment followed at Pine Hill cemetery. Survivors include nine children and several relatives. President Roosevelt approved the provision of 350 demountable housing units for Jackson Flora in Mississippi. The decision was announced from Washington on December 24.
John Fisher at a Kansas City filling station fought off a robber by throwing a blow torch, missing and breaking a window. The intruder fired three times but the gun jammed and he fled as Fisher sent his dog after him.
