Barge Traffic on River Ends Period in Monroe
The Stovall Navigation company reports a six month period from July 4 to December 15 with 11 267 492 pounds of freight handled by weekly outbound and inbound barges between Monroe and New Orleans. Outbound tonnage totaled 8 092 525 pounds and inbound 3 174 967 pounds. Two large barges are due for service in January and the fleet will reach 2 500 tons capacity with additional vessels. The Monroe merchants benefited, while the Monroe Transfer and Storage firm notes busy times from three trucks.

Texas Valley citrus exhibit car tours eight states

Ford to Distribute 1.774 Million to Employees
Ford Motor Company will distribute 1,774,000 to holders of Ford employees investment certificates next month. About 26,991 people will share the eight percent return, bringing their annual income from the certificates to 16 percent. An eight percent return was paid last July. The company discontinued is suing the certificates April 6 after 5,000,000 had been purchased.
