The community welcomed numerous out of town guests for Christmas and the holidays. Family reunions and visits unfold across Monroe and surrounding towns with travelers from Memphis, New Orleans, Wichita, and Alexanderia joining local residents for festive gatherings.
The War Work Council of the Young Women’s Christian Association plans to aid Japanese factory girls by setting up dormitories, recreation rooms, and social programs. It will place secretaries in factory towns to improve health and living conditions, while highlighting women like Mrs Susaki who expanded training and employment for women in Japan.

New Orleans December 82 Rev Father Meary F Cassidy parish chaplain and Louisiana resident writes to J P W Aymeond praising Col F P Stubbs and his 186th Infantry unit. He recalls wartime support and says Stubbs would govern Louisiana capably if elected, sending regards to the regiment and its veterans.
