Monroe Expressway north end redesigned to ease congestion
James W. Moore of the Louisiana Board of Highways said plans for the Monroe Expressway north end were changed after studies and talks with Monroe Planning Commission. A revised route uses the existing North Sixth Street right of way from Breard to Louisville with one-way traffic on North Sixth northbound and North Fifth Street southbound. The project reduces right of way costs, with the city contributing 250000 and total costs rising beyond 1800000.
