Monroe Seeks Carnegie Aid For Local Library
Monroe plans an active campaign to obtain Carnegie Foundation support for library books and maintenance. If funded, the city would receive about 1,000 volumes and a maintenance grant around 12 500 dollars, exchangeable with other districts for broader access. Librarian Mrs. Lillian Mitchell said efforts will continue to secure the books and funds.
