Bank Bandits Flee Into Swamp After Marion Junction Robbery
Safford Alabama December 1 Four bandits robbed the Marion Junction State Bank this morning and were chased into the Bogue Chitto swamps three miles from town by Dallas County sheriff and posse. The outlaws ditched their car and exchanged shots with a carload of pursuers before vanishing into the swamp with repeating rifles. The sheriff asked Kilby prison trail dogs for aid. none of the posse was wounded.

Cuban teen escapes injury in 1500 foot plane crash near Charleston
Carlos Francisco Fuentes a 13 year old Cuban aviator escaped unharmed after his second hand biplane fell from 1500 feet near Charleston South Carolina. Cuban consul Florencio Guerra said Fuentes arrived in Miami by train recounting the incident and his plan to continue to Havana seeking another aircraft. Fuentes paid 700 for the plane and had been warned it was not fit for the Havana trip. He flagged a train after walking to a nearby track and was brought to the city.
