Dr Irion Visits Monroe To Discuss Bayou DeSiard Plans

Dr V K Irion commissioner of the department of conservation arrived in Monroe for a several day visit. He attended the district court hearing on the Consumers Gas over production case and was luncheon guest at Hotel Virginia. A 3 p m conference with Mayor Arnold Bernstein parish police jury president T F Terzia and Izaak Walton league president J W Pope will cover Bayou DeSiard fishery plans and financing.

Shreveport Seeks New Street Railway Fares

The Shreveport Railway Company filed with the Louisiana Public Service Commission for an 8 cent adult fare with 4 cent child fare as originally proposed. The amended request asks a straight 7 cent fare for adults and 3 1 2 cents for school children, replacing the current 7 cent cash fare, 4 tickets for 25 cents or 17 for a dollar, with two and one half cents for younger children.
