Mrs. Mattie Souder told police Lonnie Taylor a 30 year old black man entered her Birmingham bedroom early today with an axe and threatened to kill her. An auto light flashed through the window as he advanced and fled after leaping out the window. A salesman pursuing in his car aided by pedestrians chased the suspect for several blocks before escape.

JOLIET ILL Dec 15 The electric chair was used for the first time in Illinois in a triple execution. Dominic Bressetti John Brown and Claude Clark were electrocuted for the murder of Will Beck a Lake county farmer during a botched robbery. Twelve Waukegan witnesses watched as Warden Green and four wardens observed. Clark died at 7 18 Brown at 7 24 and Bressetti at 7 27. Governor Small denied clemency this week after board recommendation.

The gang is also tied to a Grand Cane bank robbery of 940 dollars and valuables.
