Israeli forces attacked four Syrian outposts along an eight mile front by the Sea of Galilee killing 55 Syrian soldiers and taking 29 prisoners. Four Israelis were reported killed with twelve wounded as the assault unfolded overnight.

Evangeline Parish sheriff reports 75-year-old Patrick Duffy Martin was shot in his Ville Platte home after a prowler waited for him. The bar owner was robbed of 1500 dollars. sons found the body. State police were asked to assist in the investigation.
