Burl Otwell of the LaSalle Parish office said Urania residents cannot purchase food stamps in the Urania office until January 14. They may buy stamps in the Jena courthouse basement on Wednesdays and Fridays until December 21. The Jena office will close after December 21 and reopen January 2.

Madison Parish Lawsuit Seeks $278,955 Damages

In U S District Court a suit filed Monday seeks 278 955 dollars in damages for an August 23 Madison Parish auto crash. Plaintiffs Barbara Gravely Theodore Ash and James Huddleston allege the estates of Robert E Byrd and Emma J Byrd of Jackson Miss caused injuries and deaths involving their vehicle. The petition lists 180 955 for Gravely 50 000 for Ash and 47 000 for Huddleston.
