Beaut y Salon Week Plans Set by Monroe Cosmetologists

The Monroe Unit of the Louisiana Association of Accredited Cosmetologists met for December and organized National Beauty Salon Week for February 22 28 1953. Ruth Touchstone named chairman with committees for welfare finance publicity styles and recruitment. Albert Ringo named public relations chairman and Millie Buttita moderated the Q and A. Regular meetings move to the first Tuesday each month.

Northeast Louisiana Artists Show Monthly Art Films Rep

The Northeast Louisiana League of Artists screened a Rubens retrospective and a British sculpture history film at the Art Shop on Louisville Ave. The series continues the first Sunday each month from 3 to 4 30 p.m. The January 4 1953 program features the life of Rembrandt with cast. The group plans a December 13 costume ball from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. themed Moulin Rouge using Toulouse Lautrec paintings.

Annual Military Ball At Northeast State Country Club

Cadet Lt Col Doyle Craighead crowns Queen Dolores Wallace at the Northeast State annual military ball to be held Friday from 9 p m to 1 a m at Bayou DeSiard Country Club. ROTC cadets, sponsors, and senior cadets participate in a grand march before a dance with Sleepy Spears and his orchestra. Tickets are limited with cadets given priority. remaining sales opened to the student body late last week.
