Monroe residents show about a 25 percent rise in electricity use since the city adopted the modified rate last July. Figures from July through November 1935 and 1936 indicate steady gains, with August and September jumps reaching 35 and 21 percent. West Monroe Kiwanis Aids Good Fellows Fund
The West Monroe Kiwanis club raised thirty two dollars for the Good Fellows at its regular meeting in the First Methodist church where merchandise was auctioned by members. Ladies' night is set for December 31 at 7 p.m. with installation of officers including W. R. Hatchell as president-elect and Vance Rhodes, E. E. Pritchett, and E. S. Eby among those taking office. The club reports an 87 percent average for the year.
