State police reported the Louisiana 15 bridge ten miles south of Monroe on the Winnsboro road dropping at 2 30 a m and traffic was detoured. Pendleton Oregon December 10 rescuers worked 18 hours in subfreezing temps to free 51 year old Norman Vina Ford from a 15 foot well after a cave in. His son Leon 18 braced the wall and helped dig as Ford was brought to the surface conscious but weak. Neighbors heavy equipment and a iron pipe widened and stabilized the shaft while hundreds watched. Ford suffers no apparent injury per doctor.
