Sheriff Milton Coverdale reports the arrest of Charlie Jones of Monroe Tillman Scruggs of West Monroe and Z W Scruggs brother of Tillman in Tallulah Madison parish on Tuesday. Seven cars stolen around Monroe have been recovered and the ring is said to sold stolen vehicles on installment plans to local Black buyers. A Ford roadster seized from Z W Scruggs possession was traced to South Grand Street and identified as stolen from John Lee Smith of Lillie La. A Ford touring car is also believed stolen but ownership is unclear.

Fatal playing house accident in Houston children die
In Houston Texas a denatured alcohol accident while children played house fatally injured two youngsters. Erline Owens five died yesterday and Charles Buchanan four died today. Boiler Explosion Kills One at Nazworth Russell Pumping Station
Four men were at the Nazworth Russell pumping station west of Tullos when a boiler exploded at 9 05 this morning. One man, age 35, died instantly. another, 30, suffered probable internal injuries and was taken to Alexandria hospital. A third, 55, suffered serious burns but is expected to recover, and a fourth man received minor injuries. The cause remains undetermined but likely low water in the boiler.
