Six foot tall man in a gray overcoat robbed Oak Lawn National Bank of Dallas at 8:45 a.m. He handed a note to teller Mary Ann Moody, escaping with about $2400. A 1951 black Ford waited at the curb for the getaway. The second man wore a white suit.
Three of six new Ouachita parish school board members were sworn in this morning by Deputy Clerk B S McRainey. Walter Bennett Ward 5 Harry Wheelis Ward 8 and W Barlow Snabnet Ward 10 took the oath in the clerk of court office. The remaining three Buckley Ward 3 Head Ward 9 and Janes H Trou dale Ward 10 are to be sworn in later. The new board will meet for the first time January 5. no meeting this month is planned.
The West Monroe city council postpones its Tuesday meeting until 8:30 a.m. Wednesday in respect to Tom Hood who died Sunday. Hood was a farmer and an employee of Amoco Hood, a board member for West Monroe.
The Citizens Investigating Committee released a 1,900 page report accusing Mayor Morrison and acting Police Superintendent Scheuering of lax administration and allowing widespread vice. It cites graft, payoffs by rank, brutality, and continued prostitution and gambling despite protests. The panel urged Scheuering's dismissal and said the investigation relied on confidential sources.
Good Fellows appeal for donations with many memory gifts listed from individuals and groups. Totals show contributions ranging from 1.00 to 50.00 and a note that money is needed to continue aid, with a pledge to continue on the second page.

W D Milton presiding. Interment in Hasley Cemetery. Pallbearers named. Survived by wife Annice Hood daughter Mary Lorraine Robinson brother Alderman Amos Hood and five sisters.
