Court Orders U.S. Delay on Auto Airbags
A federal appeals court in Cincinnati told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to delay the rollout of passive airbags in cars after Aug. 15 1975 until new testing standards are devised. The 6th Circuit pressed for refinement of dummy testing and uniform procedures, in a ruling joined by two judges and partially dissented by one.

In a 6 3 decision the Supreme Court upheld state power to suspend liquor licenses for nude dancing and other “bacchanalian revelries.” Justice Rehnquist states First Amendment does not protect public nudity beyond books and movies and cites 21st Amendment controls over liquor sales. The ruling affirms 1970 regulations enabling the ABC to act against establishments deemed contrary to morals.
