London December 4 All nations at the inter allied conference stand with Premier Lloyd George on forcing Germany to pay fully for wartime damage. Allied representatives also back bringing to trial those responsible for outrages against humanity during the war.
T. M. Smith an assistant special agent for the Missouri Pacific was indicted by the Grand Jury for assaulting Henry Williams colored with a dangerous weapon. Smith was arrested this morning by Deputy Sheriff D. L. Roper and released on 309 dollar bond.
Gil Phillips Averett, a 19 year old resident of West Monroe, was arrested on a warrant in Ouachita Parish for an attempted criminal assault on Emme Skipper near Swartz. The suspect, described as mentally irresponsive, had been staying with relatives. bond set at 1500 dollars.
Monroe community plans British Day observance in the City School Auditorium at 3 pm with a large welcome for returning soldiers. Committees led by Mayor Apgar organize events including a barbecue, music, and speeches, plus a memorial tablet and permanent records for parish war service.
