Delta Attack by North Vietnamese Repelled in Mekong Delta

North Vietnamese troops attacked Tuyen Binh in the Mekong Delta as 300 militiamen police civilians and pacification workers repelled the assault. Field reports say 29 defenders were killed 150 attackers died and 50 wounded amid a five hour battle near Saigon. American advisers praised the defenders and noted the clash as the delta's largest in six months.

Man Shot Dead Outside Baton Rouge Nightclub

George Ballas was killed by multiple gunshots outside a Baton Rouge nightclub near the Mississippi River.
