Monroe issued 28 building permits in November totaling 4950,455 with repairs and new work up by one from last year. Seven new one family homes valued 10,800 plus a 7,600 four family apartment and 759 garage apartment formed residential activity, plus non residential adds including a 4,290 memorial chapel donated by Dr. Weingarden.
Seven year old Mary Greenoat dies after a bout with meningitis mirroring the illness that claimed her sister Annie Buna Green ten days earlier. Mary contracted the disease a few days after Annie Buna’s death and was removed from home near Knoxville to a hospital.
