Wilmarth Ickes dies at foster father's Winnetka home

Wilmarth Ickes 37 foster son of Secretary Harold Ickes was found dead with a pistol on his chest in his foster father's Winnetka residence. Police called it self induced. no note found. He had recently suffered headaches and was under a doctor's care. The wife and three children were en route from Mackinac Island.

Pardon petition seeks compensation for Gus Langley

A North Carolina petition asks the legislature to compensate Gus Langley who twice escaped execution and proven innocent. Over the weekend seven people died in Louisiana and Mississippi from violence and accidents. Annie Gill, 36, poisoned herself in Archibald Louisiana. Robert Allen Ends Life In Apartment Revolver Tragedy

Robert E. Allen fifty five formerly ran a major NE Louisiana electrical equipment business and died at his 105 South First Street apartment after a self inflicted firearm wound.
