President Nixon meets with West German ambassador Kenneth Bush at the Western White House to discuss a four power Berlin draft. Officials expect U S Britain France and the Soviet Union to accept the agreement within two weeks as Germany talks on Berlin follow. Nixon also signed a federal union labor policy order and accepted the resignation of patent commissioner William Schuyler.

New York AP reports Marga Bourke White, famed photographer for Life magazine, died at 65 in Stamford Connecticut hospital from Parkinsons disease. She broke barriers as first accredited woman war photographer and first woman to fly on a bombing mission.

Washington AP Director George A Lincoln of the Office of Emergency Preparedness said the 90 day wage price rent freeze will end at midnight November 13. The freeze is interpreted as starting August 16 and ending midnight November 13, extending beyond the initial November 2 expectation.

Senator Urges Special Session to Redistrict Louisiana

Yen Action Hailed by U.S and World Bankers

U S economists and international bankers welcomed Japan’s decision to let the yen rise on foreign exchange markets calling it a victory for Nixon’s economic policies and a step toward solving international monetary problems.
