C W Gill of five miles from Mer Rouge on the road to Bastrop was brought to Monroe from Bastrop on Wednesday in the Willis shooting case. Sheriff J F Carpenter ordered his release last night after bond was arranged. Gill returned to his Mer Rouge area. Pomeroy Willis, garage owner and farmer, was shot at close range while en route from Mer Rouge to Bastrop and remains in serious condition at St Francis hospital. Doctors say the wound is not likely to be fatal but he is in considerable distress.
