A 9 year old named Donald De Moar crawled through an iron fence to a Bronx Central Railroad station platform and started reading comics. A gust blew the paper onto the tracks and he chased it. He was struck and killed by a train.

President Franklin D Roosevelt calls Farley to conference over Representative John O Connor of New York. Roosevelt had criticized O Connors obstruction in the House and already signaled support for Lawrence Camp in Georgia's primary.
Coroner Charles H Hersh seeks state troopers to take over the prison amid an investigation into deaths of convicts in a near airless cellblock. He plans arrests of several prison officials and demands staff replacement to end alleged mistreatment.
Brown explained that a new law allowing federal and state taxation of incomes from securities would attract capital to interproductive enterprises.
