Chicago Aug. 23 The Interstate Commerce Commission will hear on Aug. 29 a planned general rate advance by railroads. Deposits exceed 102 million dollars, with many earning eight to twenty five percent. Small villages host rising banks such as Edred Polk county 28 thousand deposits, Evan Brown county 80 thousand, Ashby Grand county 115 thousand, Cannon Falls 636 thousand. Fully fifty percent of country bank stock owned by farmers.

A convention of anti administrationists gathered at the Grunewald Hotel New Orleans with 175 to 250 attendees largely opposed to Governor Sanders. Thomas H. Lewis Opelousas chaired while C Harrison Parker served as secretary. Ex Governor Blanchard sent a sympathetic letter and the meeting featured addresses blasting state and city administrations. Theodore S Wilkinson was given an ovation and ex Auditor W S Frazee and others attended. Lewis read a long indictment of administration sins and a plan to draft an address to Louisiana democracy was proposed. John D Wilkinson of Shreveport spoke challenging the Game Commission bill and urging North Louisiana to join in redeeming the party.
In Cleveland on Aug 23 John D. Rockefeller politely dodged a question about Taft and Roosevelt's chances, offering only a broad grin. He chatted with aeronaut Goodale about the airman’s recent flight and invited a repeat demonstration at Rockefeller’s grounds.
