Information received Wednesday reports the death Tuesday afternoon at his Lake Charles home of G B Watkins Sr former Monroe resident. He organized the Ouachita Baking Co in Monroe and was president of that firm and of the Calcasieu Baking Co at Lake Charles. A 32nd degree Mason and deacon of the First Baptist Church he died after a long illness. He is survived by his widow, his mother Mrs J A Watkins of Goochland County Virginia, and two sons G B Watkins Jr and another son.

Two unmasked men in dark suits and straw hats robbed the Bank of Cloutierville near Colfax in Natchitoches parish shortly after 9 am. They forced cashier J. J. Raftery and niece Miss Hanley to lie down, locked them in the vault, then fled to a waiting car. About $200 was taken, including pennies, and deputies hunted the pair in nearby woods.
