Judge J G Palmer of Shreveport withdraws from the Louisiana governor contest after a self described chaotic political scene and uphill odds. He had earlier announced candidacy during a Texas vacation and thanks supporters while ending his bid.
The 28 hour postal service night flying test succeeded overall despite fog at Laramie. Westbound relays proceeded near schedule with clear handoffs, while eastbound mail faced a 50 mile gap between Laramie and Cheyenne due to heavy clouds and fog. Pilots Boonstra Knight Lewis and Collison navigated weather delays as Cheyenne resumed departure with its cargo.
Associated Press reports Huey P. Long declined comment after Judge Palmer withdrew from the governor race. Julius T. Long, Huey’s brother and Palmer backer, criticizes the field and endorses no hand-picked candidate, while praising Palmer as a better governor choice than rivals.
Hy Associated Press reports Judge William C. Barnette of Shreveport said he would withdraw if Judge Palmer entered the gubernatorial race. He noted Palmer’s entry prompted his withdrawal but did not commit to re entering the race.
The Central Carbon Company brought in its fourth gas well near Flourney Mérton and McGee No. 3, southwest of section 22, twelve miles north of the city, yielding an estimated 15 to 20 million feet. The trio of prior wells produced 16, 30, and 13 million feet. The company expects the plant to start in sixty days and be the first carbon factory wholly owned by local interests in the Monroe field.

Dr EB Caharen leapt toward the hooded figures triggering a scramble and the robed men fled leaving part of their costumes behind. The evangelist continued preaching after the interruption. Some parishioners say Caharen’s intervention cost the congregation a potential liberal donation.
The national association of attorneys general will discuss ways and means for a sweeping nation wide investigation into gasoline prices at its Minneapolis convention next week, officials announced in St Paul Minnesota today.
Washington and Havana are negotiating adjustments to the Tarafa consolidation bill with aims to satisfy both governments. Bidders included Whitney Central Bank disqualified for an error, Weil Roth & Irving, and several others. Construction plans call for a jail atop the courthouse, with completion expected early next year and furniture funded from the 400000 dollars budget. Depositories named Central Savings Bank & Trust and Ouachita Bank.
Washington reports sufficient hard coal stocks in storage to cover normal demand for more than four months after a government survey during the anthracite miners and operators dispute reached the point where production might stop.

Carter Glass and Oscar Underwood slated to speak. afternoon sessions include recreation. A separate Monroe bid awarded GE a 2,500 kW turbine generator for 42000 to boost power capacity.
A golden rail will be installed in a Union Pacific section at Cedar City Utah as a memorial to Warren G Harding. The rail celebrates the opening of the national park line to Cedar City on June 27 1923 and will be laid September 12 at the spot where the late president disembarked. Cedar City lies about 200 miles south of Salt Lake City.
Air Mail Pilot H A Collison reached Cheyenne after a dash from Laramie amid dense fog. The San Francisco to coast test mail, delayed by weather, was handed to the regular day mail plane flown by Pilot E M Allison for Omaha service.
Pilot H. G. Boonstra on the maiden westbound mail run of the 28 hour air service returned to Cheyenne after takeoff at 5 am and traveled six miles before fog forced a safe return.
New York police circulated requests to 9,000 cities and towns in the United States and Canada to help locate three month old Lillian McKenzie kidnapped from a Manhattan street. The frantic mother, now bedbound, appealed for news while the empty perambulator remained in place as a silent plea for the child's return.
