Ouachita Parish Hosts Seventh Annual 4-H Encampment

Fire destroys house at Waterproof on Friday
Fire Friday morning destroyed a house occupied by Mr. Clark at the Chicago Lumber company plant in Waterproof Louisiana. Damage also affected a second house and all of Mr. Clark's furniture was ruined.

Ouachita Citizens Master Farmers Honored in Baton Rouge
Mr and Mrs R L Moore of Sterlington named master farmers of Louisiana at a Baton Rouge short course. Twenty master farmers exist in Louisiana with selections based on education leadership finances and more. The Ouachita parish delegation included 15 men and 107 women with 1 588 farmers statewide attending the event with a Farmerville fair planned for dates to be announced.

Grotto Meeting Seeks 1937 Southwestern Convention in Monroe
A special meeting of the Teflis Grotto entertainment committee at Hotel Virginia outlined plans to attend the Southwestern Grotto convention in Beaumont September 5 7 and push to secure the 1937 event for Monroe. The 2 piece band will join the parade and local members are urged to reserve rooms through committee chair F M Culver.

Salvation Army transfers captains to Mobile
Capt. and Mrs. George W. Whitaker, in charge of the Montsoe unit for a year, are reassigned to Mobile Alabama effective August 26. Adjutant and Mrs. Washburn of Gulfport will arrive to continue work.
