Gilbert Brown Sr. Dies in North Little Rock Ark
Gilbert T. Brown Sr., father of Ouachita and Morehouse parishes assistant district attorney Gilbert T. Brown Jr., died early Tuesday at his North Little Rock home. He was 68 and an employee of Missouri Pacific Railroad. Funeral services are pending Owens Funeral Home. He lived in North Little Rock 12 years and previously in Monroe. Jane Dawkins Dies Final Rites Tomorrow
Jane Gordon Dawkins of Monroe died after a long illness. Funeral services are set for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Grace Episcopal Church, with interment in Riverview Cemetery under Mulhearn's Funeral Home. Born April 24, 1917, she was educated in Monroe, studied at Northeast Louisiana Junior College and Mary Baldwin College, earned a library science degree from LSU, and served as librarian in Newark and Lake Charles. She later worked as secretary to her father, Judge Ben C. Dawkins Sr., and as Monroe Morning World society editor before retirement. She is survived by her parents and one brother, Judge Ben C. Dawkins Jr. Pallbearers listed.
