Friends of Stanley Reid connected with the American Service Co in Shreveport report he will be located in Monroe, splitting his time between the two cities after several months of special work. Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Jones have returned from a week in Chicago for the Century of Progress exposition.
The Episcopal auxiliary met at Christchurch with a brief service opening. President Mrs. Hughes led the session, eight members attended, and plans included continuing the gift chest. The Methodist auxiliary, led by Mrs. German Baker, discussed the ways and means, formed a baby circle with eight new members, and invited the group to meet August 28. refreshments followed served by Mrs. Hornsby and aides. A birthday party for Jane Scott was hosted by Mrs. J Wesley Scott with lawn games for the young guests.
Judith Lane faces complications over the Rio Diablo dam funded by Bevins heirs in a suit against the will. Norman Dale leaves the firm, Lampere loses control, Mathilde shifts focus, and Judith fights to protect her home as legal maneuvers and town gossip swirl around Hillendale. Delphy supports Judith, while Cunard reports on injunctions and Scathborne’s holdings. Norman’s address goes unknown, leaving Judith anxious about the future.

West Monroe members of Teflis Grotto invite prophets and families to an old fashioned watermelon and swimming party at Lazarre's Point on the Ouachita river Friday at 6 45 PM. Monarch Henry Ray asks all grotto members to wear fezzes to add to the festive atmosphere. Regular monthly entertainments have helped members and families get better acquainted.
Sheriff's officers traced the getaway car abandoned near Calvin, Louisiana, after a bandit robbed the Bank of Campti of 1500 dollars yesterday. A woman stayed at the wheel while the robber seized the money and locked five people in the vault before fleeing. Fine volcanic dust persists in the air for years.
