German air armadas swarmed the southeast coast with 300 planes in renewed attempts to invade Britain while Midlands industries endured the heaviest bombing yet. British fighters clipped dive assaults as anti-aircraft fire boomed, leaving five dead in dawn raids on multiple residences. Authorities pursued Nazi parachute users found inland.
General George C. Marshall calls the Central Louisiana 2 000 000 acre training area the finest he has seen and signals Alexandria could host a year long guardsmen training if the guard is called by President Roosevelt.
