Italian grocer and wife escape robbery by rising owner
At about 1 am P LaPetrie an Italian grocer on Eleventh and Adams street awoke to find a negro armed with a club approaching his room. The intruder fled after the owner sprang up. Charles Lee, a negro, was arrested later and charged with acting in a dangerous and suspicious manner. He was fined $252.50 or 252 days on the streets. Lee previously served two years in the penitentiary for robbery.
