Two Angolan convict suspects in England murder
At the Angola state penal farm two convicts, Joseph Schiro and Lucas Badeaux, were charged with murdering Fred England who was found in his cell with his throat cut after he disclosed a planned prison break. Sheriff Wilcox said evidence pointed to both men, with no further arrests expected soon. England, a 37 year old Winnfield native, had been serving time for robbery. the slaying occurred as guards rushed to the cell. The case will go before the West Feliciana grand jury in October.

Last Body Found in Virginia Mine After Blast
In Derby Virginia the Stonega Coke and Coal No. 3 mine completed an all night vigil as rescuers recovered the final body of 17 victims from yesterday's explosion. Man Held After Hit-and-Run Fatal Near Sterlington
Charlie Little of Morehouse parish was jailed after confessing to driving a car that struck Elisha Currey a 21 year old black man on Sterlington road.
