Rev Herman Driscoll pastor of Oak Grove Church will lead revival services at Cypress Baptist Church starting next Sunday. Services are nightly at 7 30 o clock through the week with a cordial invitation extended to the public.
Special interest attaches to the meeting of Stonewall Lodge No 8 at Castlehall at 8 p m Thursday as City Commissioner Wayne Huckaby attends the event.
Huckaby plans to ride the goat as part of the campaign event with the usual refreshments promised at the close.
Shelby M. Jackson state superintendent will speak at Northeast Louisiana State College commencement tonight at 6 p.m. on the president’s lawn. A Pekin Illinois rackhouse fire destroyed 68 000 barrels of whisky and killed Lawrence Nervear 39, a plant employee. Frank Drury Pekin city commissioner was bruised but survived as the blaze threatened adjacent structures.
