Seattle August 5 The Bishop of the Texas Diocese died after health problems while in Wisconsin. In a separate political note Bryan urged voters to expel Lorimer backers from the party. A Vancouver radio reported the Canadian Pacific steamer Princess May struck a rock near Centre Island Alaska and began sinking with passengers and crew to be landed.
The Right Rev. Edward Joseph Dunne bishop of Dallas died in Green Bay Wisconsin on August 5 while visiting for vacation. He was a widely known church leader across the southwest and had recently traveled from Texas.
William Jennings Bryan in The Commoner urges Democratic legislators who backed Lorimer for the U.S. Senate be expelled from the party. He says any Democrat voting for Lorimer for patriotic reasons should retire to private life to learn patriotism.
