Car-Truck Crash Near Farmerville Hospitalizes 3
Three people were hospitalized after a collision on the Bayon D Arbonne bridge near Farmerville. Injured were Mrs W H Sumrall of Ruston, 59, Mrs Mary Ann Smith of Foreman Arkansas, 29, and Mrs Polly Ann Hogue of Mc Gee Arkansas, 92. Mrs Hogue sustained chest injuries and a broken leg. she was treated at a Farmerville clinic before being moved to Ruston General Hospital in serious condition. The 1958 car driven by Sumrall swerved into an empty lumber truck driven by Wilford Swihart of El Dorado. State troopers filed no charges pending further investigation.

Twin Cities Students Travel to National Latin League Meet
Fifteen high school students and a sponsor from the Twin Cities will depart by chartered buses for the seventh National Junior Classical League convention in Albuquerque New Mexico starting Sunday. The group from Neville Ouachita Parish St Matthew and West Monroe High Schools is sponsored by Mrs W E Leigh. They will visit Santa Fe and Carlsbad Caverns en route and stay at the University of New Mexico.

Kennedy Forces Seek Support of Gov Davis
The Louisiana Kennedy for President Committee asked Gov Jimmie H Davis and state and parish officials to endorse the Kennedy Johnson ticket in the November election. Co chair Philip Des Marais said the request was sent to Davis and all state legislators sheriffs clerks of court assessors and coroners in all parishes. Clubs have been established in New Orleans Baton Rouge Opelousas Lafayette Abbeville Eunice and Norco.

Davis forms 13 man agency to handle segregation issues
The new 13 member agency including the governor was created by the 1960 Legislature to oversee segregation problems and federal encroachment on states rights. It carries a $175 000 appropriation to operate and was a key Davis campaign pledge. Davis said the first session should be closed while members organize and a prepared statement would be released after the initial meeting. The governor was unavailable for comment on possible talks in New Orleans with school officials.

Eight boys were advanced in a Court of Honor held last night by Troop 128. Two received life ranks, two star, three promoted to first class, and one to second class. Three new members joined. Court Resolves Antique Gun Dispute With Bowed Verdict
Chung Tok Seto Soo Hoo, 23, faced a ruling after an argument over an antique gun. He bowed to the judge and then celebrated in Chinatown with well wishers, as She Wing Soo Hoo declared the court found insufficient evidence to support Chung Tok’s contentions.

George W. Atnip 83 died in a local nursing home. Funeral services are set for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hixson Brothers Chapel with Rev. Earl T. Ogg and Rev. Wrenn officiating. Interment follows at Greenwood Cemetery Pineville. Survived by two daughters two brothers one sister and three grandchildren. He belonged to the Methodist Church the Masonic Lodge and the Shriners.

Funeral set for Shreveport oil lease buyer killed near Calhoun
Raymond L. Weadock 40 of Shreveport died after his car stalled on a Illinois Central track two miles west of Calhoun. The wreck dragged 1040 feet. J C Cathey of Shreveport said the train was about 38 mph. Weadock, an independent lease buyer, was unmarried at death and survived by a widow and two children. Funeral arrangements are handled by Osborn's Funeral Home.
