Funeral services for Elma Mae Hardy’s husband were set for 2 pm Friday at Sandy Lake Pentecostal Church near Jonesville with Rev E M Hooter and Rev Wiley Holland officiating. Interment followed at Fortson Tyat Manifest under directions of Kinner Stevens Funeral Home of Jena. Survivors include wife Elma Mae Hardy of Vidalia three daughters Mary Sue Robby Marie and Debra Ann and son Robert Randy all of Vidalia a brother J J Hardy of Harrisonburg two half brothers Milton Posey Kenneth Posey of Harrisonburg one sister Ella Zeigler of Vidalia and mother Mrs Mary Hardy of Harrisonburg.

Gasoline Explosion Hurts Ferriday Men in Subdivision
In Ridgecrest Ferriday late Wednesday night a gasoline explosion and fire badly burned three men and seriously burned about a dozen others. G De Jackson 2B remained in critical condition at Concordia General Hospital. Frank Delaughter 42 of the Ferriday fire department and Charles Powell 34 were also burned and hospitalized or transferred. Several volunteer firemen were injured as gasoline stored in the carport exploded after firefighters arrived. Jackson, a Interstate Pipeline Company worker, was burned over a large portion of his body. his wife and child escaped uninjured. Continued on page five.
