The Louisiana Department of Education urged schools to honor James Audubon on his birthday May 8 with lessons stressing birds' value. The speech notes three bird classes, praises game birds for sport and food, extols insectivorous and non game birds, and calls for protection for all birds against harm.
Milton Reed, a Black man, admitted breaking into a Lamkin, Louisiana home and stealing 190 dollars from Charles Singleton. Reed’s confession appears to exonerate Henry Singleton, with a warrant issued yesterday by Charles Singleton.
Eight French automobile officials and Peugeot family members toured Dodge Brothers and Graham Brothers plants in Detroit to study mass production and the Peugeot oil engine. They praised efficiency, clerical dispatch, and the vast machinery, planning further visits including Graham Brothers Evansville plant.
Two automobile wrecks on Monroe streets were reported to police yesterday. Dr. C. A. Johnson of 1213 St. John Street said his car was rear ended by a vehicle driven by W. Harris, an employee of Ford, Bacon and Davis, on South Grand Street. Johnson’s car was then knocked against a curb.

Washington April 30 The burden of surplus crops tests plans for adjournment within three weeks. The House will tackle the problem Tuesday and may debate it for a week to ten days. The Senate Republican steering committee places the subject fifth on its agenda as western senators push for action and seek support from the South and other regions. The Senate has corn relief bills before it.
Nashville April 30 The National Laundrys Association president W A Johnson says newspapers give the best advertising value for laundries and that laundries provide more service per dollar than any other business. Harold Woodhead discusses bundle insurance followed by J A Morton on supplier relationships.
