Air Mail Airman Leaps 2000 Feet and Lands Safe
Pilot Henry J. Brown flying the Cleveland to New York night air route jumped 2000 feet from a crippled plane and landed in the mountains near Clearfield Pennsylvania. The craft crashed nearby and burned, Brown burned on the hands as he rescued mail from the wreck. Part of the mail is salvaged and returning to Cleveland. Brown operated over Hell’s Stretch, a known deadly section for Eastern air mail flyers, when the motor quit.

New Orleans Newsboy Fatally Injured in Ride Home
In New Orleans on April 26 Louis Bonneval a 15 year old newsboy was fatally injured when an automobile truck collision threw him from the vehicle and the truck overturned fracturing his neck. Drivers Henry Janin and William McFall were charged with manslaughter. The boy supported his mother.

Fourth Attempt to Wreck Train Found East of Vicksburg
Jackson Mississippi April 26 discovery of ten sticks of dynamite under a pile of cross ties at Parks Spur three miles east of Vicksburg by a section foreman is believed to foil the third plot to wreck the fast passenger train 202 between Vicksburg and Jackson. This is the fourth attempt on the system's lines within four weeks high officials and railroad agents investigate. The Planter on the Y M V railroad was wrecked last Tuesday north of Vicksburg after a switch was tampered with injuring several. Train 202 derailed March 31 near Dixon six miles west of Jackson but no injuries. Earlier vandals possibly frightened away at Bo vina when a rail was removed near a curve.
